1. The part of the vehicle that carries the oil tank is basically the chassis. Drivers usually know this area quite well. The issue is that after installing the oil pump on the tanker, we take power from the engine to install the drive shaft and power take-off. With these two setups, we need to be extra careful during operation because improper use can damage the power take-off.
2. For using and maintaining the oil pump, follow its user and maintenance manual exactly. The manual comes with the vehicle.
3. For using and maintaining the fuel dispenser, follow its user manual exactly. The manual comes with the vehicle.
4. If the oil flows slowly or won’t come out, check the safety valve and filter screen. These should be checked and cleaned regularly.
5. The oil tank and pipeline system should be cleaned regularly. Check periodically that all pipeline connections are properly connected and sealed.
6. To ensure the oil tank stays clean, the tank and the oil delivery system should be cleaned regularly. Lubricate both ends of the oil hoses often for easy assembly and disassembly. After finishing each job, cover the inlet and outlet ends of the hoses with caps to keep the inside clean.
7. Oil loading should not exceed the rated capacity (calculated according to oil density).
8. The medium passing through ball valves shouldn’t be too dirty to protect the seals and extend the valve’s life. Ball valves shouldn’t stay half-open for long, as this can damage the seals. When driving, all ball valve handles should be in the closed position.
9. The pump inlet screen should be cleaned regularly to prevent clogging from oil sludge, which can affect flow.
10. Keep the breather valve clean so it can work properly. The spring inside should not be replaced at will, as that can affect air intake and release. If the breather valve gets blocked, the tank may deform.
11. To prevent fire accidents, never hit parts of the tanker with metal when the exhaust pipe or muffler is damaged, the lines are leaking, or the grounding electrode is broken. Sparks could ignite oil. Always have firefighting equipment ready.
12. If the sediment pit under the oil tank freezes, do not use fire to thaw it. Use hot steam or drive the vehicle into a warm environment.
13. Before working, the fueling truck must use a grounding rod on wet ground, and grounding straps should be connected. Maintain proper static electricity grounding during the whole operation.
14. Check the fire extinguisher before driving. Operators should know how to use it and maintain it according to its manual.
15. Before working, check the tank pipelines for leaks, ensure the grounding wire is not disconnected, and ensure the exhaust pipe is not damaged. Fix any issues before operation.
16. Follow regulations when measuring fuel. In winter, drain any water from self-priming pumps to prevent freezing and breaking the pump body.
17. When entering the tank to work, ensure good ventilation and have someone outside for protection. If needed, wash the tank with soapy water before operating.
